TDW Closeouts - The Discount Warehouse, Inc., and My Dealings With Them

No new news

As of today, I haven't heard anything from TDW. I think they have grown tired of trying to intimidate me and others like me. I want to keep this blog alive so others can be warned of their practices. If enough people don't do business with them, hopefully, that will put them out of business. If anyone has started a class-action lawsuit against them, please let me know.

  • Hello, I've had terrible dealings with this company back in January 2006. I spent almost $2000 with them to purchase high end cosmetics for resale. What I received was JUNK, JUNK, brands I never heard of, nothing even sellable. I paid $4.75 for each item. Most of the items were broken, opened, nail files(!), etc. We even went and visited them in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to check them out before we purchased. They have a beautiful showroom, fancy offices, etc. all to impress you so they can rip you off. I've written, emailed, and faxed. I have received nothing in return. I've written it off as a bad experience. However, I will gladly help with any "complaint" to someone who can do something. Sharon Carey

  • Thank You , Thank You, Thank You, WE were just getting ready to take money from our savings to invest in tdw as they are only 3 hrs from our home , we thought because we can go pick up our merchandise ourselves and they are fairly local looked to be good. what sold us on them was how they are repeatedly mentioned in popular books E-BAY FOR DUMMIES, HOW TO START YOUR E-BAY BUSSINESS, So Thank You again because if we lost that money we would lose our home.

  • I purchased 3 pallets which were described in writing as overstock, shelf pulls and returns. They shipment arrived in half empty boxes and all of the items were damaged and broken.

There only offer was a credit over several future purchases. I would never make another purchase from them as they are dishonest. Please do not make the same mistake I made!

Should I get a lawyer? Would it work?

By Anonymous OM, at 11/25/2010 5:29 PM

  • Hi OM -

Sorry you put out so much money. I don't know if getting a lawyer will work. I don't know if one will take your case without paymet up front. I started this blog because I wanted justice. Sorry you didn't see it in time. I didn't try a lawsuit, because (1) I would probably have had to take them to court in Florida (way out of state), and (2) the attorney and court case would have cost me more than I lost. This happened to me a long time ago. I wish I could have gotten them on a news show, like 20-20 or 60 Minutes. Maybe you have the energy to do some good. Good luck.
